Wouldn’t be my first choice, but I have been given an Apple Macbook pro from work.
With most companies I am required to update my password regularly. Anyone with any experience with Apple Keychain knows how awful it is. Every time I update my password I get the message “talagent wants to use the local items keychain”, as well as further messages from facetime and iMessage asking for my local password.
Searching around I found a few solutions, none of which work. The only solution I have found which works is manually deleting the keychain. You can do this as follows:
1. Open the hidden Library folder. To do this, click the Go menu in the Apple Finder. While the Go menu is displayed, hold down the Option(Alt) key to reveal the Library menu option. While still holding the Option(Alt) key, click Library. The Library window will appear.
2. Delete the user’s login.keychain file (or move it to a different location). This can be found in the Keychains folder, which is located in the User’s Library folder.
Do make the process less painful I have created a shortcut straight to the keychain folder so that I can quickly delete the file each time I update my password.
